Helen McCarthy Tyalmuty

Helen McCarthy Tyalmuty was born in Tennant Creek in 1972. After living much of her childhood at Nauiyu Nambiyu Community (Daly River), she attended school at Mount St Bernard College in Herberton on the Atherton Tablelands in far north Queensland.

Helen has a relentless passion to learn all she can about culture and country from her elders and she spends her time in her community at Bulgul, on the coast between Daly River and Darwin and with her family, is passionate about helping underprivileged children from all races.
